Octavo. [xii], 337, [1] pp., with frontispiece, 16 plates and 2 text illustrations by Frederic Remington. Publisher’s red pictorial cloth, worn and a bit soiled, joints repaired. A good copy with ownership inscriptions to paste-downs.

Lewis (1857-1914) was a lawyer, journalist for Hearst (to whom this book is dedicated), politician and itinerant cowboy.
