This nearly/killed me./Love/Josh.”

Octavo. [viii], 1-408 pp. Illustrated with many black and white photographs, all reckoned within pagination. Publisher’s black cloth backstrip over grey boards, front cover stamped in silver and gilt, spine lettered in gilt, dust jacket. Some mild wear and chipping to jacket, with a few small tears, minor rubbing to cloth. Overall, a very good copy with an excellent, warm inscription.

Joshua Logan (1908-1988) was a prominent theater and film producer, director and writer. He directed the first runs of Annie Get Your Gun, Mister Roberts, South Pacific and Wish You Were Here. He also won a Tony award for his direction of South Pacific, and a Pulitzer Prize for co-writing it with Rogers and Hammerstein. In Hollywood, he directed Picnic, Bus Stop, South Pacific, Camelot, and Paint Your Wagon. He was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Director, for Picnic.
