Jacket spine is browned with a few spots of dampstaining, some chipping to head and tailcap of spine, one thin, short (about ¾ of an inch) rectangular hole on the front cover (not affecting text), partial tear to front flap, some edgewear and soiling to jacket, minor rubbing to cloth. Still, a very good copy.
Searle (1864-1954) was a Fellow of the Royal Society, and worked at the Cavendish Laboratory for most of his career. This book describes several experiments he undertook as a university lecturer, and contains experiments on Mechanics, Elasticity, Surface Tension, Viscosity, Heat and Sound.
