Charles Simic (born in Belgrade in 1938) is one of the most acclaimed American poets. He has won the MacArthur Fellowship, the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry (in 1990) and the Wallace Stevens Award in 2007. Also, in 2007, he became the fifteenth Poet Laureate of the United States.
