Poems. Cincinnati: S. G. Cobb, Book Printer, 1863.
First edition of the UNA's [pseudonym of Mary A. McMullen Ford] first (and presumably only) book.
Small octavo. [2, blank], 216, [2, blank] pp. Publisher’s full brown cloth, covers elaborately paneled in blind, spine lettered in gilt. Spine worn and chipped at edges, one area near tail-cap repaired, gilt on spine faded, some rubbing to boards, mild damp-staining to end-leaves (not affecting conjugate blanks), previous owner’s neat ink signature at top of title-page. Overall, a good copy.
These poems, by an obscure poet, are on religious, moral, and anti-war themes.
