Covers triple-ruled in blind with blind floral cornerpieces, spine ruled in blind and lettered in gilt, gilt turn-ins, all edges gilt. Spine slightly sunned, some rubbing to edges and corners, fine gift inscription to Cecil Edward Bowrehier (?) for "industry in Math and Classics" on front pastedown. Mild foxing to front and rear blanks. Near fine.
Tennyson (1809-92) was poet laureate of England, and one of the most popular and most quoted of all English poets. His poems include The Lady of Shallot, The Lotos-Eaters, Idylls of the King and Maud.
