First edition of this early work on forensic medicine. This comprehensive work on the investigation of violent and suspicious deaths includes sections on identification of the dead, calculating time of death, autopsy techniques, blunt force injuries, stab and bullet wounds, asphyxia, infanticide, and extensive information on poisons - with illustrations throughout. This was the most comprehensive and important work on the subject throughout the first half of the twentieth century.
