Mediaeval Researches from Eastern Asiatic Sources.  Fragments Towards the Knowledge of the Geography and History of Central and Western Asia from the 13th to the 17th Century  London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co. Ltd., 1910.

Two octavo volumes. xii, 334; x, 352 pp., including index. With a fold-out frontispiece map in each volume. Publisher's full saffron-colored cloth, spine and front cover decoratively stamped in brown, red, and gilt. Some rubbing and light soiling to extremities, corners lightly bumped, some foxing to a few leaves, catalog entry for the book taped to flyleaf of volume I.. From the library of professor/ philosopher Dale Riepe, with his ownership inscription to each volume and occasional underlining and annotations throughout. Several pages of what appear to be Riepe's own scholarly notes relating to the book, along with a hand-drawn map, are laid in. A very good copy with unique supplemental materials.

This scholarly work, a volume of Trübner's Oriental Series, provides a comprehensive account of mediaeval geography, history, and travel to and from Asia, including a great deal of information on the Mongol's journeys west.
