First printing of this scarce alphabet book, written and illustrated by Edward Gorey.

Edward Gorey (1925–2000) was a prominent American illustrator and author. In addition to his books he is known for his animated introduction to the PBS series Mystery!, as well as his Tony Award winning costume and set designs for the 1977 Broadway production of Dracula. His macabre illustrated books featuring Victorian and Edwardian settings are popular with children but have long had a cult following with adults as well.
