"Against his loving father's wish, Robinson Crusoe went to sea A storm arose, the ship was wrecked, And all her crew were lost but he."
[CHILDREN'S].

Robinson Crusoe.    New York: McLoughlin Bros, 1893.

Quarto. [12] pp. Color pictorial publisher's boards backed on either side with red cloth. Entire volume designed as a theatre staging a play, with stage, proscenium arch, and orchestra pit on front cover, poetic adaptation and scenes from the story on each page, and audience members on verso of each page. Volume opens from center, allowing pages on each side to form a complete scene together. Some edge-wear and mild soiling to boards, small chips from front cover and large chip from rear, a few pages neatly rehinged, but overall still a very good copy of this fragile work.

A delightful theatrical retelling in verse of Defoe's classic adventure tale, beautifully and brightly illustrated.
