First trade edition of Steinbeck's final novel, an exploration of morality in the twentieth century.

John Steinbeck (1902-1968) is one of the most important American authors of the twentieth century. His works, which deal with how ordinary poor people cope with a frequently cruel and uncaring world, continue to resonate to us today.
